id Software released Quake II on December 9, 1997. People are still playing it, and this site exists for them. New players can start with the guides. Veterans of the old scene will find the entire 2004 to 2009 portal preserved: the news, the interviews, the leagues and the demos.
The 2023 remaster made this the easiest time in decades to play. Old hands may prefer the classic clients instead.
The duel knowledge in these pages held up. Movement, timing and map control have not changed since they were written.
